Three disciplines, one problem
BESS field operations, electrochemical engineering, and hardware diagnostics — the combination required to make cell-level intelligence production-ready.
Cellanchor was built by engineers who have spent their careers inside the problem they are solving. Aditya ran BESS projects and watched anomaly data go unread. Nkechi built the electrochemical degradation models at a national laboratory. Tobias diagnosed field failures across 800 MWh of deployed storage systems. They met through the MIT Energy Initiative's industry partner program and founded Cellanchor in 2024 to build the platform they each needed but none of their employers had.
Aditya Ramaswamy
CEO & Co-Founder
Aditya spent six years as a storage project engineer at independent power producers across New England, overseeing commissioning, operations, and failure investigation for grid-scale BESS deployments. His direct experience investigating a thermal event — and discovering the precursor data had been available but unreadable — drove the founding of Cellanchor. He holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from Cornell University and completed an MIT Energy Initiative industry research fellowship in battery storage operations.
Nkechi Obasi
CTO & Co-Founder
Nkechi holds a PhD in electrochemical engineering from MIT, where her dissertation focused on physics-informed degradation models for lithium iron phosphate and NMC chemistries. Following her doctorate, she led battery modeling research at a US national laboratory, developing the SEI layer growth and lithium plating detection models that form the scientific core of Cellanchor's digital twin. She is the primary architect of the platform's electrochemical inference engine and anomaly classification pipeline.
Tobias Grünwald
Head of Battery Science
Tobias joined Cellanchor from a European BESS original equipment manufacturer where he led field diagnostics engineering for over 800 MWh of deployed lithium iron phosphate systems across Central Europe and Scandinavia. His work involved on-site failure investigation, root-cause analysis of capacity fade events, and development of maintenance protocols now used as field standards by several European grid operators. He brings the real-world failure dataset that informs Cellanchor's fault classifier training data.
Talk to the engineers directly
At this stage, operator conversations are technical partnerships. The founding team handles all early customer discussions. There is no sales layer between you and the people who built the product.
